Founded in 2015, Whitebrook AS is a Norwegian company specializing in the eHealth sector. We provide expert consulting and development services for applications and APIs, helping healthcare organizations innovate and streamline their digital solutions. We also offer AI-assisted translation of medical content using custom tools, supporting Spanish, Italian, Catalan, Norwegian, and English - all done with native-speakers with domain expert assistance.

About the Name

Whitebrook is an anglicized version of the Norwegian place name Mjølkeråen, derived from the Old Norse Mjolkrá. This area, located about 15 km north of Bergen, Norway, is one of the oldest known settlements in the country - established shortly after the last Ice Age. Around that same time humans first crossed the Darien Gap into South America, and 4500 years before the first Pyramids of Giza were built.

The name literally means milky stream, referring to a small creek that tumbles steeply into the sea from Bogetveitstemma, our local source of drinking water. The region's mild climate, abundant fresh water, and rich supply of fish and wildlife made it an ideal home for Stone Age communities. Today, the views of the sea and the sunsets remain as breathtaking as they were 9,000 years ago, connecting the present to a deep history of human settlement.

Magne Rekdal, MD

Trained as a medical doctor, 6 years of clinical experence (1992-1998). A software developer with 45+ years of experience (1980-). Since 1998 involved full-time with eHealth projects, 6 years with Pfizer Inc, 12 years with Emetra AS, 6 years with DIPS AS. Since 2023 he as worked with Helse Bergen HF and Whitebrook in various roles and projects.
